Good time on Wednesday in State College. Met Dustin for dinner at Brother's Pizza (?) where I took Rachel to meet him back in the day. Amazing all this shit that keeps coming up, no? There just seems no end to the madness. Not that I'm crazy, yet. I'm sure it'll just be a matter of time. Talked a lot about he and Jen. Feel for the kid. Seems to be back on track for the most part. Dating again, something which I should probably stray from, but here's me saying this when I'm going out tonite. Not a date, really, but... Just need to lay low for awhile. Working well for now. Made me go over to Staples and help him buy colored pencils for his classroom because they were like $.10 a box. Turns out you can only buy five boxes at a time, so we had to keep going in and coming back out. Good times were had by all. Off to get comics, but they were closed by the time we got there. WTF?!? What comic store opens at 3pm on comics day and closes by 7?!? Dreading coming back home for numerous reasons! Slept in until 4 yesterday. Got to bed that morning around 1am, but just didn't care to get up. Some crazy dreams, but just didn't want to face the day. Did get up and do some chores, though. Took a walk out along the river path but the grass is getting high. Need me some pants. Nice time with dad once he got home. Had some corn and made some really sucky lunchmeat mountain pies. Prefer pizza ones myself. Much easier to do things when he's there, for some reason. Especially when he's in a better mood than the previous nite. Gets pissed with that television, but I think he should just bite the bullett and take the box back. Been giving him problems for months. I don't watch much, but I'll be damned if I'm watching Lost up there all season! Sort of date tonite with my friend Leslie. Should be okay, especially since we got all the mess out of the way the other nite. We'll see how it goes. Like I said, I'm not pushing for anything and I'm just here to have a good time. Not even sure what we're doing at all. *shrugs* Excited to see her, though. Been awhile, too long, really, and should be fun. Excited to get comics, though. Thinking about going up very soon to get my hands on some goodness. 52, GA, and Supes are the headliners this week, not to mention whatever comes out from Marvel. Think it'll be a light week on the pocketbook. All depends on what extras I may pick up, though. It's a habit, okay?!? Think that's about all. Need to do some real journaling yet. Maybe catch up on it at B&N State College. Need to read some more Green Arrow graphic novel, too. Actually pretty good stuff. Love the writing and the art brings it back, too. Off on my way to get some comics now. I'm feeling the neeeed... Jared

Good time today at the ballpark. Did a bunch of shitwork that just reminds me of Bentley or Hickory. Not that I minded. Spent the first part of the morning spraying down mats with a hose to make 'em clean. Fun stuff, lemme tell you. Just neat to do this stuff again. Makes me feel like a kid. Was scrubbing dishes and stuff next to my supervisor, a real cutie that's eight years younger than I am. *hangs head* Turns out we come back w-f, and next week we do some sort of food service where all these people come to eat. Getting me so excited to be doing shit work again, 'cause I don't have to think! And then I've got Frank dying to play Earthdawn. I need to immerse myself in the books again. Always was a good read. Now I've gotta put it all together. Got some interesting campaign ideas, at least for the time being. Have to see what camping brings us. Not sure how much time we'll get to play. Mayhap do this stuff online. Get me out to Ohio more often, that's for sure. Or him here of back to Pittsburgh or something. Talked a long time with my old pal Leslie last nite. Lots of things I've let fall by the wayside these last couple of years, huh? Being totally honest with me and she just broke my heart. Really nice to hear, though. Things seem to be going well with her which is great, but we've only chatted online, so I'm looking forward to getting together with her to at least see her and talk face to face. Something we didn't do enough of last time. Listen, along with this livejounal, I'm just not spending enough time doing the things I NEED to be doing. My challenge to you who read this is to keep me on task and ask me how long I've been online, what I've been doing, etc. I'll be honest with you, I like to waste time on here. I need to be doing more of the things I want to be doing, you get my drift? That's about all folks. Only one of you reading so far, but I'm going to get more hooked, I think. Maybe a bunch of you, we'll see. Bless you all. Jared

Okay, okay, not that I'm not into it, I suppose I've just been out of practice for a few days. Not into much today. Did go to church this morning and dropped off a book for Frank so we can get some Earthdawn on, and then off to Rhonda's for lunch. Other than that, though, it's just been one of those days. Napped for a couple of hours 'cause I felt tired from last nite, but something's been nagging all day. How it is sometimes. Excellent day yesterday. Didn't wait all that long for the delivery guys, so that was nice. Visited with Rhonda and that was okay, too. Headed up to State College on a beautiful afternoon, going the back way to get me juiced for book. Been doing that a lot lately. Caught some more ideas as I stopped into Curtin Village and actually took the tour. Need you some old history sometimes to make you appreciate what things are worth. Called up to Sal and Frank in State College at the Ramada, but no one answered the phone. They couldn't taken five seconds out of snarffling to pick up and tell me where there place was? But we went to Hi-Way Pizza for lunch and some foxy gal named Jamie serviced us. lol Neat, too in the men's bathroom there was a framed movie poster for some zombie flick. A little salute to the three of us, anyhow. Talked comics with Frank for awhile. Seems pretty pissed he didn't pick up Invincible and he was grilling me from spoilers. Just little questions, but I was glad to lead him on some answers to get him rabid for it the next time he went to get comics. Also got to talking about roleplaying and how we really enjoyed Josh's scenarios for Hero's and Star Wars. Looks like we're going to play Earthdawn...somehow. Went home later and chilled with Dad for awhile. He went down to check on our neighbors camping down by the river. I stayed up and wrote on the porch when a doe and her fawn came right out into the clearing. Lasted for a couple of minutes until they ran back in and then I saw another fawn following them. Heard something back to the left, too, where I throw the old corn cobs. Neat stuff. Had a few drinks with Dad at the Son's. Turns out Julie didn't sign and missed out on $300+. Good chat, but wrote my ass off sitting there at the bar about television and music and stuff. Good for an essay, I think. Just needs a little tweaking. Headed back up home, but just really needed to stay out, so I dropped Dad off and came right back down. Not too much happening, and a bunch of oldheads came into the Corner from some 25th class reunion. Filled the place up so I headed to Uncle Albert's. Not too shabby. Hung out with Adam and then Anthony and Becky. I dunno, I think that's all tonite. Look, how are these spaced paragraphs? Anything else I can do for ya, kaylaraine? By the way, how do you get my name to come up on your livejournal as a link? Jared

Catch you all later. Lots to say, but you'll have to ask sometime. See you on the flip side. Jared

Suppose it's just one of those nights. Not really in the mood to be writing on here, but maybe give it some time and I'll feel the need to expound. Dunno if that's even the right word. I'm sure it doesn't matter much, no one reads this stuff anyhow. Took my time getting up this morning. Read me some Bible and really can't remember what I did with the rest of it. Man, that's come crazy ass shit. Ummm, I remember doing some writing, too. Started a story or essay about money and how my summer's going compared to how old I'm getting. Not as old as some, but I'm getting up there. Oooooh, had me a Totino's pizza, too. Tasted kind of like their pizza rolls, though I'm sure Mike and Kerry wouldn't be all that impressed. I only did get one pizza in the box. lmfao! Miss those kids along with the rest of the B&N crowd. May get to see them next weekend, but that depends on whether or not I have to work the LLWS. Did a heck of a lot of work at Dad's place on S Jones in the Haven this afternoon. Nice that I'm getting paid for it. Wasn't sure how I was doing with all the trimming, but found out that once I got to the pine tree that things were good. You don't know how fun it was to just tear vines out of the tree. Take a big yank and pull 'em all down. So easy to clean up, too! So, comics last night and the night before were pretty good. DC is still going strong. Paul Dini is still at the top of my charts with a stand-alone issue with a reformed Riddler?!? I'm liking this new style. Teen Titans was pretty cool, too. Got to see a lot of interaction with Mallah and the Brain. A little creepy, but their pillow talk was definitely...well, romantic. Y the Last Man wasn't bad, either. Not great, but we didn't see any Yorick at all. Just was some fill-in story about the Israeli(?) woman in charge of finding him. Hear it's coming to an end, though. *pout* Ex Machina, also by a DC imprint AND Vaughn wasn't bad either. Lots of drama with the whole pot issue and Michael's brother sleeping with another guy. Hoping the shit hits the fan. Maybe Hundred can turn it off in time? lol Can't remember if I already said as much, but I jsut looked back on LJ 'cause I can! Invincible pretty much kicked ass. Ends up killing Angstrom Levy last issue and is pretty shaken up about it, especially because he can't get out of the place due to the portal. Turns out all his buddies from the past (now future) come save him to send him back. Weird shit with Robot and that little guy in the pod. Not sure where that's headed, but I'm sure it'll be good. Robot's a human?!? Oh, really need to be reading these copies of Invincible if I really want to be writing comics. He's got some good shit going on that I might be able to learn from. That and maybe buy the scriptwriting issues. Mouse Guard was pretty cool, too. Lots of action and intrigue with someone called Black Axe. A good guy, but we'll see how he turns out. Other than that, spent an hour in the river once I got home. Sooo nice, was like bathwater. Saw a momma fish (8-10 inches) and a baby (3-4) and even a littlier one (2 inches). Read me some Joel Osteen and felt really good about that, 'cause he wrote just what I needed to hear today. Did some Osteen journal, too. Still need to be folding some clothes before dad comes back this weekend. AND get my books off the front porch. Came down to have dinner with mom and Bob. Shucked corn and cooked the steaks and was pretty good stuff. The salad left a little to be desired 'cause it tasted like paint smells. (make the connection?) Bob brought some microbrews along, too. THEN, he took us out for ice cream at DQ. Saw Meghann there and was excited to see her, though I'm holding back on such things for now. Just need to lay low for awhile. Couldn't tell you if the guy she was with was her bf or whatever, but she looked good. Got her number, too, which is weird. Got 'em coming out of the woodworks. That's two in a week? Talked to Carly for about a half hour today, too. Poor sister's sick with some sore throat and a fever. Very talkative, though, or at least maybe it was me. Said she heard most about what I talked about, though she was glad to hear it from me, I think. Pray that she gets better at least to make it to this wedding tomorrow. Doesn't need to be hurting there, especially int he heat. Told her I still want that GL t-shirt for my birthday. Interesting that he's about my favorite character in the DCU. I think it's something to do with the fact that they're so many of them and just about anybody can become a GL. That is...unless you fear nothing. Seeing a good connection with God, and interesting how Hal Jordan got to be The Spectre once he "died". Just another thing to thank Him for. That's about all. Missing out on a hike with Bob tomorrow (a big one, too!) 'cause I have to be at one of dad's places for a refrigerator delivery. Curses, it's an extra long one up the cell tower and out to Mackeyville! Looking forward to the night or maybe afternoon to get to see Sal and Frank in State College. Hope I get to see them, maybe Dustin, too, if I get the chance. Jared

Okay, hope I'm doing well so far. Not sure about all these Subjects or any of this, only because I'm so damned picky about perfecting my writing. Journaling on real paper earlier today about that, too. It'll happen when it's good and ready. I hope. Bitchin' evening in State College. Had me a good dinner with Jarod. Nothing like back here at Hangar 9, but the crawfish and corn chowder was great stuff. Even though school's not technically in session, lots of gals hanging 'round. Not too shabby to say the least. Read 52 already. Damn good, but feel bad for Ralph Dinby. Looks like he's taken a flying leap off of the deep end. The Creeper by Niles looks good, as does everything else DC/Vertigo/Wildstorm has put out this week. Picked up Invincible and Mouse Guard, too. I'll let you know how they work out. Stopped at B&N afterwards and worked on my pages for awhile. They went pretty smoothly and had time to get three out. Nice stuff. Very nice not to answer the phones or put away any front list. Or help customers. Got to remember that one. May go back for the holiday season if they want me, but we'll see. Headed over to Wal-Mart (bad idea, I know) 'cause pap gave me a $5 gift card. Was really looking into the new Tom Petty cd or maybe Nightwatch on dvd. Still listening to the old one and I realized this new one is just him, too, so it may be good. Also have seen Nightwatch, but wouldn't mind seeing it again, not to mention the deleted scenes and extras and stuff. The birthday's coming up, though and I don't have the capital. Did see Heidi and her husband on the way over. Then we ran into Ernie Force. Amazing to see all these folks from church in one place at the same time. Gave up my BestBuy coupon to Ernie 'cause he's looking for a computer or a printer or something. Not sure if it'll work, but he did mention that all good things for those who serve Him. I'm going to have to memorize that one--it's definitely a favorite. Saw Marykate outside and hunted her down inside, even though I'm not sure why. She's looking cute and moving to Philly area tomorrow, so I caught her at a good time. Says she didn't recognize me because I keep getting better and better looking. (Have lots to look forward too, eh? lol) Chatted a bit and we exchanged phone numbers. Not that it's going anywhere which is probably a good idea, but I'll tell you, I really loved the comment she made! That's about all tonite. Off to go home 'cause I'm really sweating here at the house. Sleep in the air conditioner and talk to Beth for a bit before hitting the pillows. Wish me luck on the trimming on S Jones street tomorrow. I'll let you know how ugly it was. Jared p.s. Although I like the goat, his facial expressions are not what I'm looking for. Anyone have any idea what I should change it to?

Just another day here. Not too much to tell you, other than it's pretty hot out. Looking forward to the drive to State College this afternoon, but I don't use ac, so it may not be all that great. Guess I'll just have to go faster! Finished Book of Joe by Jonathon Tropper last nite. Second time I read it, and boy was it good. Real cry-fest, though. Found a few more passages that really spoke to me, have to remember to write them down in the quote journal Jenn and Steve got me when my grandfather passed away. Comics come out today. Excited, though not sure how much to be 'cause I don't think much DC comes out. Other stuff, which is good, but you can't beat the guys in capes. Makes you wanna just get out there and get your own written, doesn't it? Think that's about all. Going to head to B&N to harass the hell out of some employees, just because I can. Got some writing to do, too. Maybe I'll do that first. At least it'll keep me out of the heat. See you all later. Not sure if I'll be back in tonite to take another crack at this, but if I am, I'm sure it'll be good. Jared

Only seventeen more shopping days until my birthday... (don't know if this counts because only one person reads this.) This is on sale tomorrow, so maybe if a few of you want to go in on it, I'm sure it'd be greatly appreciated. *grins* I know I've read the novelization, but never read the comic... http://www.dccomics.com/comics/?cm=5472So, just putting that out on the table for all you all out there in the digital world... Jared p.s. For those of you financially challenged (and who isn't?) you can probably find Kingdom Come in regular tpb format, too. Maybe even used at half.com?
Finally on here, and I'm not worrying about the colors or anything until someone says something. I just don't wanna dick around with it anymore. Here I am wanting to be that much closer to being off the grid, and I'm making a livejournal page. At least maybe it'll get me writing? Not sure how any of this works, either. Something like magic, maybe? I suppose if all goes well, someone on the other end will be given a chance to read it. Now, if I could only say something worth reading... Got a sidekick from back in college egging me on as I write this up. *grumbling all the way* I just wanna see what happens when Frank the Goat comes out to play. Either way, it seems like it could be fun, but who wants to be in front of the computer more. Any chance I can upload stuff from my typewriter?!? Yah, really! Seriously, though, what's making this different from what I normally journal in my notebook. I think I mentioned not long ago that I'd only be a writer once I filled up all those notebooks from college and high school that I continually bought because I definitely needed something new for class. Now I'm writing on a computer? What's up with that? Other than that, I've got my job secured with the Little League World Series. Did drive 40 minutes out of my way to get it, but it'll be an experience once I've grown old and gray. Just remind me that when I'm on here Monday afternoon bitching about the heat of the place. Like my good buddy kaylaraine sez: "I thought you were going to be spontaneous?" Absolutely right, but I figure right now no job and waiting another two weeks *crossing fingers* for my next paycheck is spontaneous enough. Who cares if it's only selling stuff in the concession stands or up and down the aisles shouting "Cigarettes, cigarettes for-" Waitaminute, this is supposed to be a family outing... Think I could go on forever, but like the name suggests, 8TrackMind is what I'm all about. Maybe more late if the mood strikes me, but I'm sure it won't, it's too hot out.
